Our Advantage

Whether you receive your financial advice from the Internet, the nightly news, or a friend or family member, chances are you’ve felt confused, lost, or even frustrated. We get it. The foundation for knowledge and confidence is partnering with a professional that not only understands the legal and financial implications of your decisions, but also understands why it matters.

At Oda and Company, you matter. Our investment plans aren’t structured around making a sale or building the largest client base possible. They are structured around your needs, objectives, and goals. The families that work with us experience a range of potential of benefits, including:

Experience

Having provided comprehensive personal financial planning for decades, we bring a lot of real-life experience to the table. Many financial advisors were not practicing (or even born) during the crashes and bear markets of 1987, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2000-2002 and 2008. We were there. We saw many investments and strategies fail. We also saw which investments and strategies had the most success. No one who deals with investments, including us, is going to be right 100% of the time. We know that picking the perfect investment is not only difficult to do consistently, but is rarely the key to achieving long-term financial success. Rather, financial confidence can be pursued through the application of time-proven techniques and avoiding costly mistakes that result from bad decision-making. Learning from one’s mistakes is good, but when it comes to your life’s savings, that approach can be severely damaging to your financial health. This is where the experience of a seasoned professional can make a difference.

A Comprehensive Approach

Many financial companies focus solely on managing your investments, but we take a more holistic approach to help you to pursue your financial goals. We devote a lot of time with our clients analyzing their personal situations then developing strategies to help them pursue their goals. Often such strategies have little or nothing to do with investments. Properly addressing issues such as income tax reduction, cash flow planning and budget control, debt management, maximizing employer benefits, optimizing Social Security, making proper pension elections, evaluating senior housing options, preparing for health care costs, protecting the estate, etc. can go a long way toward potentially enhancing your family’s resources even before making any improvements to your investment portfolio.

A Professional Approach

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and registered as an investment advisor for decades, we have always held ourselves to a fiduciary standard for the advice we give to our clients. Additionally, we consider our practice to be “right- sized” to serve our clients’ best interests. We possess all the technology, resources and infrastructure needed to run a modern, efficient practice, but we are not so large that we have a big, hungry machine to support.
